Doing More To Support Communities

GiveToLocal’s Director of Strategic Partnerships has urged local communities to come together in an effort to tackle the impact of coronavirus.

And Colin Stromsoy confirmed GiveToLocal is looking at how it can better support grassroots sport and business in the weeks and months to come.

COVID-19 has already had a significant effect upon the day to day lives of people across the country.

The outbreak of the virus has led to the closure of schools and businesses and the postponement of sporting activity across the UK, as officials look to quell its spread.

And a fast-changing landscape threatens the very fabric of local communities with local businesses, in particular, hit hard due to a downturn in demand for their services.

However, Colin is adamant that GiveToLocal will do everything it can to try and help people, businesses and communities during these challenging times.

“What we are all going through is unprecedented and fundamentally changing the way that we live our lives,” he said.

“Despite this challenge, we will get through this and we’re determined to play our part in ensuring that, when this time passes, our local sports clubs and businesses will once again be able to thrive.

“We are looking at how we can support local businesses, local clubs and individuals - the very things that make up our local communities.

“Despite this unprecedented challenge, if we support one another and do what we can for others, we will come through the other side stronger.”
