GiveToLocal Partners With Lincolnshire FA

GiveToLocal is delighted to announce that Lincolnshire has become the latest county football association to enter into an official partnership.

The agreement between Lincolnshire and GiveToLocal will see the two organisations work together in an effort to help grassroots football clubs navigate the challenges of COVID-19.

And Adam Thurston, Football Development Manager for the Lincolnshire FA believes that GiveToLocal can provide help and support to clubs across the county.

“At this moment in time, clubs in Lincolnshire are facing unprecedented challenges,” said Adam.

“As a result, I think that clubs will be finding it challenging to raise additional funds due to the lack of both fundraising opportunities and summer tournaments.

“I believe that clubs will be receiving help and support through GiveToLocal that will connect them to their local communities, which will then enable them to secure financial sustainability.”

Due to COVID-19, community sports clubs across the UK are currently facing a series of unprecedented challenges.

By signing up to GiveToLocal, clubs are provided with a model that will allow them to bring in a level of sustained, regular income to help them plan for life after coronavirus.

And Adam emphasised that community support will be paramount for when grassroots football does return.

“It’s important that grassroots clubs stay connected to both their local community and the Lincolnshire FA for updates, advice and guidance,” said Adam.

“This will ensure that they are in the best possible position to re-start football when the Government guidelines allow for a return to football.

“Returning to participate in grassroots football is important for a number of reasons and we’ve put measures in place to support clubs to return to football when it is safe.

“It’s also important that clubs focus their resources on campaigns and initiatives that will support them to both return to football and ensure financial sustainability.

“The need to connect clubs with their local community is massive and I believe that GiveToLocal can play a major role in this.”

And a delighted Colin Stromsoy, Director of Strategic Partnerships at GiveToLocal, echoed Adam’s words regarding the need to support communities during the challenging climate of COVID-19.

“We’re delighted to be working with the Lincolnshire FA,” said Colin.

“They are a very progressive county FA and together with everyone at GiveToLocal, I’m looking forward to working with Nick [Hanson, Lincolnshire FA CEO], Adam and the whole team.

“At the moment, grassroots football clubs, like all community sports clubs across the UK are facing real difficulties.

“Playing a positive role in support of these clubs is very important to us and we look forward to working with everyone at the Lincolnshire FA to ensure we can have the biggest impact possible.”
