GiveToLocal Staff Feature: Sam Allan

Sam Allan is part of our Digital Marketing team and loves seeing the positive impact GiveToLocal has on communities across the country.

Since last September Sam has been at the helm of our social media accounts in his role as Digital Marketing Executive.

This means Sam gets to regularly interact with GiveToLocal clubs and see the direct impact the organisation has on so many grassroots sport communities.

“Day to day I respond to any questions or comments people have on social media and sort out our incredible giveaways,” said Sam.

“I love seeing the responses from people that have won the giveaways.

“They’re always so thankful and it’s amazing to see the difference we can make to these clubs.

“They’re getting funding that they really need and it’s hard to describe how good that feeling is — knowing you’re part of something making such a positive impact.”

Not only does Sam see the impact our giveaways have on clubs, he also gets to speak with clubs that have established a sustainable stream of funding through our service.

When Sam’s not being that friendly face behind the GiveToLocal socials you’ll find him blasting out some riffs on his guitar.

A passionate musician, Sam used to gig around the North East as a part of indie rock band MAYFARE. But since the pandemic Sam’s performances have been limited to his bedroom.

“I love music and I’m playing guitar a lot,” said Sam.

“I used to gig a lot too but obviously that’s not happened in a long time – probably over a year now!

“Nowadays I just play to relax but I can’t wait to be performing live again.”

If you have any questions about our service or just want to tell us what’s going on at your club, Sam will quickly put down his guitar and get back to you on Facebook and Twitter.
