And as a popular pitch-side host, he’s a familiar face to fans of Newcastle United FC and Newcastle Falcons RFC.
You may know Justin Lockwood as the man behind the mic at a series of glittering black-tie dinners.
And last year he launched the rapidly growing You To Media PR firm in a bid to put local businesses front and centre.
But what about Lockwood in lockdown?
“Once I got over the initial shock of just what this means I embraced the situation,” he explained.
“I love my sport and a lot of what I do involves socialising with big crowds and meeting people.
“So at first I thought ‘what’s this all about?’. And like a lot of people it took me a while to get my head around it.
“But once I sat back and realised that this was forced upon us, I realised I had to make the best of a bad situation.
“I’ve enjoyed the kids being around and being able to spend more time together as a family.
“I’ve enjoyed the change of pace.
“I’ve taken an online digital marketing course to complement my PR work.
“And it’s been an absolute joy working with GiveToLocal and hosting their daily giveaways.”
Justin will be back on Thursday evening to reveal the biggest GiveToLocal giveaway yet.
And if the detail of a hotly anticipated summer bonanza remains under wraps, then the Sony Award-winning presenter can barely hide his excitement.
“The Disney World Florida giveaway, when GiveToLocal teamed up with Fintegrate, was a big deal,” added Justin.
“But from what I understand this latest initiative has the potential to have a massive impact on community sports clubs across the UK.”
So just how did Justin get wind of GiveToLocal’s plans to put an extra £10m of funding into grassroots sport each year?
“I met [GiveToLocal CEO] Neil Gardiner at the Northumberland Football League dinner in March and he explained the concept,” said Justin.
“A few weeks later he called me and asked whether I’d be able to help out with the 21 Days Of Giveaways videos.
“I’ve never stopped since! It’s been a fantastic experience and I’m excited to discover what’s next for GiveToLocal.”
Justin has his finger on the pulse of North East sport at every level - whether he’s rubbing shoulders with Magpies’ stars past and present or ferrying his children to football, dance and gymnastics.
And for every day spent commenting on elite sport, the popular Yorkshireman has never lost sight of the value of the grassroots game.
“It’s there for everyone,” added Justin.
“Take Cramlington Juniors, where my son Alfie has played for almost 10 years, as an example.
“They have a track record for developing talent and a few of their top players have gone on to win professional contracts.
“That’s something the club can be very proud of.
“But it’s everything else that they do for sport in the community - on and off the field - that impacts upon so many more players and their families.
“I’m very lucky that they keep on asking me back to host their annual awards and that’s a night when every aspect of the club is celebrated.
“It’s a glimpse of the power of grassroots sport and it’s something you see repeated at clubs right across the country.”
With professional football finally set for its long-awaited return next week, Justin is counting the days until the action resumes.
But he admits nothing can touch the matchday atmosphere inside a sold-out St James’s Park.
“I’m looking forward to the day when St James’s is packed to the rafters and you hear the end of the drums on Local Hero before a massive roar,” admits Justin.
“I don’t think anyone expected sport to be away for so long and I know the prospect of full houses is still a long way off.
“But even the slow trickle of returning sports is a boost and especially for a place like the North East where sport is such a passion.
“When football does return - albeit behind closed doors - I’m hoping it will be like watching it for the first time. But I’ll take it in any form I can get it right now!”
